The E-Rev motor package consists of 48 Peak HP and 85 ft-lbs of torque, which is over six times the torque of the leading TaG engines currently in the North American market. The E-Rev will come equipped with a scalable motor controller that allows a downloadable performance package to be loaded into the system based on the different class options that will be offered. A quick change Lithium-Ion 96V 15.3kW battery pack with a BMS (Battery Management System) will be the power supply for the electric powerhouse. This system’s drivetrain consists of the 428-size chain and gear system comparable to what is seen in the shifter market today.
In the IAME Mini Swift class drivers Austin Jurs and Mason Macrander scored a couple of podium finishes. On Saturday, Jurs was driving comfortably in third when unfortunate events caused him to take a DNF on his race while Macrander crossed the line in fourth. The following day Austin Jurs was able to redeem himself by finishing fourth place in the final while Macrander was able to hold onto an eleventh position just outside the top 10 in the competitive field.
The Sparco Rotax Pro Tour takes the third round of the series north where we will visit the first of two Queensland clubs on the calendar, Ipswich. State Championship “blue plates” are what all drivers will have their sights set on as they battle it out throughout the weekend.
