The OK-N is a simplified version of the OK and features regulations which favour cost reduction. Akbar Ebrahim, President of the FIA Karting, explained the spirit of this category, which is aimed at all national markets: “Performance, reliability and accessibility are in the DNA of the OK family. Thanks to an affordable cost of use supported by an open market between all its players, OK-N is the ideal platform available to ASNs to encourage the expansion of national championships“.

From the outset an OK-N World Cup during the 2024 OK & Junior World Championships was planned for the top drivers qualified in their own countries. Italy, with most of the industrial karting activity, was the first nation to take on the enthusiasm of the participants.

While the Campionato Italiano ACI Karting is close to its start, the response in general has been positive. Denmark, Australia, France, Poland and Spain are also in the running for this inaugural season. Other countries on other continents have already launched initiatives to make these categories accessible to a wider range of competitors.

In order to support this momentum, the FIA Karting has decided to permit a national “support” event open to foreign participation and reserved for OK-N and OK-N Junior alongside the 2023 FIA Karting World Championship – OK and Junior in Franciacorta.
