Anatoly started as usual from a good qualifying session with the second fastest time in Group E thanks to a best lap of 1.02.817. Best lap time that allowed Anatoly to fight during the heats, recovering positions and completing his programme with two wins, a second place and two third places.
These results were amplified by the fourth place in Sunday’s Super Heat, useful to gain access to the starting grid positions of the OKJ final. After the start of the final, Khavalkin had to make up positions and engage in a number of on-track overtaking battles, but this didn’t put Khavalkin off the podium train, as he managed to grab the position a few laps before the end, moving up to third.
Next week, Anatoly will have the chance to repeat the good work done, again at Zuera, in the second FIA Karting weekend, crucial for the season.
