The Spanish track was completely new for Kai and he knew how to interpret it in the best possible way to obtain the best possible result. Kai and the Forza Racing team worked hard to clear up any doubts ahead of the weekend.
After finishing fourth in his group at the end of qualifying, Kai had a good base on which to build his weekend. Unfortunately, during the heats, two retirements affected his progress, which had seen Kai also finish in P8, P5 and P7, three results that would have put him in front. Unfortunately the American was forced into a repechage heat before the final and after a 5sec penalty for the front spoiler he was forced into P11 which was not enough to qualify.
It was a bittersweet weekend but one that certainly gives The California Kid hope for this weekend, which starts on Friday with official qualifying before the heats and finals (visible via streaming).
