The 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship could not have been off to a better start from Audi and EKS’s point of view. The season opener at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya saw Mattias Ekström triumph. In the final, the reigning world champion relegated Timo Scheider (D) and Andreas Bakkerud (N) to positions two and three. This victory immediately puts Ekström back at top of the drivers’ standings. In the teams’ classification, team world champions EKS are in the top spot tied on points with Team PSRX Volkswagen Sweden.
About a month before the DTM season opens, Audi is presenting the liveries of the six Audi RS 5 DTM cars. The new Audi RS 3 LMS stands in front of its first motorsport season. The race car can compete in 14 series worldwide, including the TCR International Series and ADAC TCR Germany with its strong field. The title defender of the TCR International Series, Stefano Comini, will drive an Audi from 2017 on. Also in the ADAC TCR Germany, the Audi RS 3 LMS has earned special preference: The reigning champion team, Target Competition, ordered four cars.

Already making waves in the world of sports car racing, M1 GT Racing adds to their program for the upcoming Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) event at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP). With already confirmed plans to run in the PWC Sprint-X program with drivers Walt Bowlin and Guy Cosmo, M1 GT Racing will run a second Audi R8 machine in Sprint-X with Canadian standout David Ostella, who will compete in his hometown event, and sportscar phenom driver Dion von Moltke.
