The two leading Vortex-class Champions from season 2017 in the Australian Kart Championship will go head-to-head in this season’s KA1 Championship (Vortex DVS SV) – which starts this weekend in South Australia. Reigning KA1 Champion, Scott Sorensen will face tough competition from last year’s Junior (KA2) Champion, Broc Feeney – who makes the move into senior competition this weekend at the Monarto Karting Complex – around 45 minutes from Adelaide in South Australia. The two were standouts in their respective categories at the Rok International Final in October last year, Sorensen starting the final on the front row and Feeney finishing the elite Junior category in fifth.
The Murray Bridge region will become a hype of activity next week for the opening round of the 2018 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship, presented by Castrol EDGE.
Rural City of Murray Bridge Mayor Brenton Lewis said the honour of hosting the opening round of the Australian Kart Championship for 2018 was a testament to the Monarto facility and its management.
