The BirelART North American team attacked rounds 3 & 4 of SKUSA SpringNationals with confidence this weekend, hosted at the famous PKRA circuit located in Phoenix, Arizona. Blistering hot temperatures forced drivers and teams alike to maintain composure and isolate engine temperatures to normal operating ranges. Despite PSL/BirelART having a strong track history of winning at the PKRA circuit, the team was faced with challenges in this very competitive series and overcame them with great success.
Thirteen years old, Thomas Nepveu of Montreal, Canada, signs an official contract with the Official Birel ART Race Team, based in Lissone, Italy. Thomas will compete in the CIK-FIA European and World Championship events, racing in what would be considered the Formula One series of Karting. In fact, the CIK-FIA Karting series is just another step in the pursuit of a Formula One career.
The SKUSA Pro Tour SpringNationals kicked off last weekend in New Orleans, Louisiana at the NOLA Motorsport Park, a world class facility only minutes from the downtown core of Bourbon Street. Birel ART drivers lined up and prepared to battle some of the best pilots from across North America and the globe at the back to back events.
Last weekend, the ROK Challenge of Americas completed rounds 3 and 4 of the West Coast Championship. Birel ART & Ricciardo Dealers from the area were able to set quick times and big results for this very competitive race series.
This past weekend marked round two of three of the top national program, SKUSA Pro Tour (Spring Nationals), where results were earned across multiple classes.
The team would come away as DD2 (Jeff Kingsley) and Senior Max (Ryan Norber) Champions, with honourable mention to Mini-Max Vice Champion, Justin Arseneau.
Alongside PSL, some of America’s top Birel ART race teams like Andersen Karting and Ben Cooper Racing (BCR), were able to show case their top talent all weekend long.
After competing for the Rotax Pan-American Championship in 2013, PSL returned to New Orleans, LA to take home three wins in a clean sweep at the opening round of the US Open.
Joinging team mates, Gianfranco Mazzaferro and Oliver Askew, the team-leads are joined by ex-OGP driver, Kyle Kirkwood fresh off his Florida Winter Tour back-to-back Championship titles.
The 2016 season has officially kicked off, and PSL is proud to announce their championship winning arrive and drive program for the two most prestigious series in America.
Coming back to Palm Beach International raceway after 4 years was a challenge with the new additions to the track and the changining weather, but PSL was able to conquer and secure the DD2 Championship.
PSL Karting was a force to be reckoned with during the 2nd round of the Sofina Foods Florida Winter Tour, scoring a dominating victory in DD2 and remaining competitive in all of classes where PSL drivers entered.
